Back to Canada. 8-20-16

We woke to rain and 53 degrees in Fairbanks.  We made the decision to abandon our trip to the Artic Circle. Instead, we are heading to Vancouver, BC, then on to Portland to meet our wives, Pauline and Mary Helen.

As we loaded our bikes a steady rain continued.  We pulled out and found fuel then took off on Alaska 2 on to Beaver Creek, Yukon, Canada. We had stayed here on the trip up and the mileage worked out nicely for our return.  There are few choices along the Alaska Highway.  The next good stop is Haines Junction, 185 miles away.

We drove out of the rain in an hour and were soon in sunshine and warmer temps.  It was almost 70 deg., a nice riding temperature.

We saw the scenery before but from a different direction.  It was still beautiful viewing as we headed out of Alaska.  We took pictures of the Welcome to Alaska sign that we missed on the way in.  Now we have it.
